Construction Details:

My twin and I decided to use a plain base fabric and applique the designs on and use beads and decorations to give them our signature additions of bling.

I wanted the kimonos to be light enough to be long and flowy, so as not to pull the tape holding the costume onto the binding. We don't want any accidents.

The applique was done with hand-dyed patterned materials, cut into shape, appliqued on, and hand beaded around the edges. The web design is beads and ribbon.

Personal Thoughts:

I'd been wanting to make this costume for a while. It's a simpler Alois costume, but I thought the open chest binding would be a challenge. Alois is just such an interesting character, it's a shame he isn't appreciated so much.
