Construction Details:

I used a medium weight black cotton gabardine to make the skirt as well as the jacket and necktie. I modified a long-sleeve button down shirt for Sylvia by chopping off the cuffs and making my cuffs using a white twill. The ruffles were hand gathered and sandwiched between the two cuff fabrics before stitching it all together. I made my own button holes for the cuffs and painted a couple of white square buttons with a shiny black acrylic paint plus clear coat.

The jacket was probably the first lined jacket that I made that didn't make me want to rip my hair out, but I had to do extensive modifying on a Vogue pattern I had lying around. I used the Vogue pattern as a base followed by a jacket I had in my closet as a base and drafted my own custom pattern to make Sylvia's jacket. The jacket wasn't too bad to sew, but it was a pain in the ass to line it especially with how Sylvia's sleeves are presented. however, I figured to line the jacket as normal and then stitch up the sleeve ends so that her weird sleeves will be nicely lined.
