About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I used a handful of patterns to make this particular costume. I used a poodle skirt as the base for both the white ruffled underskirt as well as the pink overskirt.
The top is composed from a slight fitted dress shirt pattern with a princess costume's sleeves attached to it. Collar was edited from original pattern, and red insert in the center was added with use of a mockup. Top is lined, and features Ridgeline boning sewed to the lining.
Spats were created from a custom pattern I made using duct tape and nylons around my shoe and leg. They have pretty textured buttons on each side, and feature an elastic bottom so they fit over the dress shoes I was wearing.
Light pink fabric is a lovely bottomweight twill-like fabric, the dark pink is a cotton sateen, and white is a poplin. Red accents are a Petersham grosgrain fabric. Gold buttons have a military look to them.
Underneath the costume I am wearing a waist cincher corset to give me the shape I needed, and I am wearing two separate petticoats underneath. - Personal Thoughts:
- I have a blast wearing this outfit. I feel so pretty and cute, I can't help but be energetic and elegant at the same time.
I was very pleased with how this cosplay came out!
