About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
This costume consisted of 5 patterns merged and modified together. This was also my first time making a corset which went over much easier then I thought it was going to. The hardest part was definitely the skirt. Trying to make fishnets look elegant was not easy, as was working with millenary netting. The petticoat was surprisingly fun to make, if not a bit time-consuming.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This woman's dress made absolutely NO SENSE. You think it's easy until you actually start to pick the elements apart and then just scream WHY the whole time trying to make it. Overall though this costume was about telling Dunya's story rather then making a costume for craftsmanship. I think the biggest learning I had was my first time making a corset, and more notes on embroidering.

- Styling Notes
- Straightened the Luthien out completely, then took two sections and recurled them, spraying them in place with got2be freeze spray. Fluffed out the back using the same method and trimmed the bangs adding the gems on so they would appear better.
- Wig Review
- This was a good style for Dunya, I wish I had a bit more time to add wefts and volumize it more but that can be done again. It was a bit thin up top and with the colour as it was it was easy for the netting to show through so I was a bit disappointed there.
