About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The blue jacket and skirt are made from a stretch velvet, and the cuffs and ruffle are a matte satin. The skirt is a 3/4 circle skirt that I cut jagged in the back left corner like in the game. I exaggerated it a little because I was afraid of having it look like a mistake. The corset is made out of a silvery bridal satin with custom bias tape made out of black crepe and leftover matte satin. I had to draft my own pattern for it and I'm not happy with it. The choker is just a strip of lace with a white velcro pad in the back, and the brooch is a pendant I found and painted on top of.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I want to make the corset over again, or at least tear off the bias tape and re-do it. I made the neckline too high because I made another corset and it was too short and I got worried. I'd like to cut the neckline lower and re-do the bias tape to be less sloppy along the bottom of the corset. It was difficult to sew because I accidentally made the boning too long without considering leaving space to sew the bias tape on the top and bottom, so I hot-glued everything in the hotel room on day zero (except the black vertical stripes). Everything else I'm happy with, just not the corset. I also forgot the brooch for Fanime.
