About this Costume
- Construction Details:

It started out pretty basic. The top was drafted from an old vintage sailor pattern I found on Etsy. The skirt was drafted by hand using a tutorial I found online by SecretLifeofaBioNerd which was for a SuckerPunch skirt that I just modified to fit my needs.
The coat was a simplicity jacket pattern. The skirt and coat were made of twill, and the shirt out of broadcloth.
The armor was made out of Worbla. It was our first time working with Worbla, and it was pretty easy, but in my opinion, just like using Wonderflex. The shapes were cut, layers added, shaped with a heat gun, sanded, primed, and painted. All the gems were resin cast.
The boots were modified from ebay. The wig was a buy from ebay that got braided up.
The sword was made the same as my other Hikaru sword. We used the tutorial from BlindSquirrelProps, only leaving out all of the tools (like a lathe) that we didn't own and modified that to fit our needs.
The backdrop was hand-painted on scrim. Foreverrrr. - Personal Thoughts:
- I made this for Siobhan and I's World Cosplay Summit 2013 skit for the Anime Matsuri Gulf Qualifier.
