Construction Details:

I really enjoyed making this yukata. I researched it online for several days before tackling the project. I wanted to make it as traditionally accurate as possible, short of the typical hand stitching because I was short on time, but I might rip my hems and re-sew them later. I was very lucky to find the blue cotton stripe fabric. I painted the swirls on light pink cotton, and then appliquéd it to the stripe. I decided against making my own obi and ordered an authentic one online from Japan, and I'm super glad I did that. All in all, making a traditional yukata is not as simple as it seems, and I really enjoyed the challenge.

Personal Thoughts:

I loved being sakura alpha kids at the cherry blossom festival! I've never worn or made a yukata before, and it was awesome! Jasmine designed these outfits and Jane's style was so perfect, I love everything about it! c:
