Construction Details:

I made the dress and then cut the collar off a men's dress shirt. I could not find striped fabric so I sewed ribbon on. In retrospect, I didn't do that the best way. I used a satin finish ribbon, so it slid everywhere, and only sewed it down the middle, so it puckered a bit on the sides. Since I know ribbon trim looks really nice if done right, I wish I had known how to do it right at the time. Overall I'm still pretty happy with how this cosplay turned out!

Personal Thoughts:

Belarus was a character that I fell in love with as soon as I saw her! Yanderes are one of my favorite archetypes, but I also felt that there was more to her than just being a crazy yandere. She had a sweeter and softer side that she hid behind her cold exterior. One of the things that I loved about Hetalia is that it left a lot of room for interpretation of the characters, so everyone has a different perspective on them!
