SO MANY DETAILS~ And I am still not done!

The ribbons in the hair have these three dimensional skull details at the ends. I sketched the backing design and painstakingly cut all four of them out of plexiglass. I wish I would have had access to a laser cutter at the time. I then took some skulls I had on my tire air caps on my car, made a silicone mold of them, casted them and affixed them to by plexiglass backings.

This was my first time making a functional fully steel-boned corset. It was such a challenge because I was trying to finish this after being being notified of being accepted into the AX masquerade only 3 weeks prior to the date! =O I used black cotton twill for the lining and a beautiful black brocade for the self. I had to work with what I could get my hands on downtown so I ended up cutting my busk down to the size I needed as well as making my own piping which I had to figure out the sewing order to get it to appear in front of the busk. ^^;

The peplum (done in 2013) is crepe-back satin lined with magenta taffeta and under stitched to prevent the lining from rolling to the front.

The fur shawl is lined with matching black brocade from my corset.

The sleeves are separate to allow free movement and have elastic at the top which prevents them from falling down during wear. I did a French Seam because it is very pretty on the inside and out and well... Amy is French after all. ^^

The skirt is made of purple/black iridescent taffeta and has 2 flounces which were a pain, but successfully baby hemmed! =D

The bloomers are made of magenta taffeta with black rose lace trim hand-stitched to the hem.

The thigh-highs are not pre-made, that would have made things too easy, lol. I found this amazing stretch lace with a rose motif and made my own thigh-highs. Once again, elasticized at the top so they don't fall down during wear.

The boots are still a work in progress.

My sword is a work in progress as well. Made from a stair case topper, plastic bowl, mdf, and a square dowel in 2 days. Eep!
Personal Thoughts:
I've always loved the Soul Calibur series and have so many favorite characters! I usually play as either Talim or Amy. Amy's new design in IV was so dark and elegant, I knew I had to make it!

Styling Notes
I AM SO PROUD OF MY WIG!!! This was such an accomplishment for me. It took 2 years for me to finally attempt it and I am so glad that I did. I followed Luluko's Mami wig tutorial where she sandwiches 2 wefts on top of packing tape/wire. However, Amy's drill curls are very far up on her head and stick out before curling. Can we say gravity defying?! I knew that wouldn't be enough to support them. So I installed a headband into the inside of the wig to attach them to! I'll get around to writing a tutorial eventually. ^^;
Wig Review
I love that Arda has a pre-styled pig tail wig, it made my life so much easier!
