About this Costume
Construction Details:
The top, bottoms, belt, gloves, glovettes, and boot covers were made from red and gold metallic spandex. I patterned it all from scratch off of screen shots and promo photos of the original Ironettes. I had help from two good friends with the belt buckle, which was sculpted in clay, molded in silicone, and then cast in resin. I made the lights from inaccurate clickit lights originally, but I'm planning to remake them more accurately at some point. I've also learned a few things from seeing one of the original screen used costumes up close, so I will be changing some details on the shorts and top when I have time.
Personal Thoughts:
I built this costume right after Iron Man 2 was released to theaters for DragonCon 2010 originally for a costume group that fell apart right before the con, but I wore it anyway. At the moment it is a "Retired" costume because there are several alterations and updates that need to happen to it for it to be worn again.
