About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Originally bought from Pikminlink, but then realized that she is TINY. I took hers apart to pattern my own and remake with better suited materials. The collar is interfaced with heavy duty interfacing (I had it lying around) and will probably never bend... ever.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love this character and this right now is my proudest projects. Toph has been described to me by my friends as my spirit animal and I like to make sure that when I am dressed up as her I live up to this. I originally bought PikimnLink's Toph costumes, but NONE of it fit me. What I did instead was take it apart and use it as a pattern that I can easily size up or down and I managed to create the costume that now fits me.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Lulu has minimal cutting and a single spike for the bangs. The bun is a upholstery foam core.It is a little more than 4 inches thick and it is carved to a proper curved shape. Afterwards the inside of it was gutted and the exterior is painted black just it case it shows through the fibers for some reason. Another, longer wig was sewn onto the bun and the bun then sewn onto the base wig. All of the sewing was done by hand.
- Wig Review
- My first draft of the bun have wefts sewn all around it, but it made the bun look ratty and the wefts didn't stay very well and started falling off. I took those out and redid it wig just another entire wig and now I can say I am happy with how it looks.
