Construction Details:

A very straight-forward costume. :)

I made the tank-top out of some sort of slinky, discount fabric using a free pattern I downloaded off the internet (laaaaazy.) I used the same fabric for the bows (okay, they were actually pretty time-consuming) and then sewed them onto a pair of boots. The hat was purchased from Target and I added the blue band to it.

I deviate from most Marceline cosplayers in that I prefer not to paint myself gray - I feel like if Marceline was translated into real life, she would look like every other vampire and just be super pale. So, I slather on MAC's Face and Body Make-Up in White and then go back in with some powder and do a bit of contouring. I then seal it with Ben Nye spray and it stays really well.

Personal Thoughts:

This is the episode where I really fell in love with Marceline's character. I liked seeing her vulnerability and sensitivity come out in her music, plus the undertones between her and Bubblegum were... well... yeah. :) Every time I watch this episode, I get pretty woobly.

Interestingly enough, this costume is one of those costumes that gets reactions even when people don't know who I am or what I'm from. My favorite is "some sort of farmer."
