About this Costume

I have made all the patterns myself from scratch for this. Only the second time I have done that- and the first was for a simple dress. I like to try something new for each competitive costume- so I'm going with patterning and worbla on this one.
It took me three times to get the black under shirt right. I modified the design slightly- being a bigger person I did not feel a crop shit was in good taste, so its a full length shirt. I used a stretch knit so it will be easy on and off with out a zipper on the neck. It is not a forgiving fabric-for me at least. The gold is hand made pipping- like really hand made. I didn't have the right size cording on me and just wanted to keep working so I braided some yarn together to make the pipping. Then when I when to add it 2 shirt #2 I totally messed it up and had to start everything over. It all worked out on the last one, so I guess third time is a charm! Next I moved on to the skirt. It it stretch satin, same fabric type as the 'coat' will be. It is lovely to work with. The gold stripe and all the gold trim is the same cotton.
The 'coat' is really 2 parts- a crop jacket with cutouts in the sleeves and a skirt-ish bottom.
Worbla is amazing to work with. Its so forgiving and does not need to be super heated. I loved just molding it with my hands and think it looks pretty good for a first time armor.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Yah, saw this one coming.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Cut length and fluffed pony tails. Styled the bangs.
- Wig Review
- Wig was a super fit, didn't even need to pin it.
