About this Costume
- Extra Costume Details by Samaru
-
The jacket, skirt, and apron were all made from linen-look fabric. The jacket is based on a kimono pattern from McCalls with an altered neckline and sleeves. The skirt is a drafted six panel skirt with waistband and added lining. All trims are made from embroidered cotton with bias tape added to the outside edge. The shirt is based on a Burda men's shirt pattern with the pleated piece mocked up from muslin and then added to the completed shirt.
- Personal Thoughts:
- So, Magi had become a blip on my radar. Then a friend cosplayed as Alibaba, furthering my interest in the series. Then I started to watch the anime and ended up really liking Jafar. ...helped that I could reuse my MakubeX wig for him.
Costume was made by my husband, Samaru, who went as Sinbad. The robes are linen with an embroidered cotton trim. The wires are just some red cording from the jewelry section of the local Joann's. The emblem is made of styrene and pinned on. The keffiyeh is the same material as the trim and held in place with some gold cording.

- Wig Review
- I purchased this wig for another costume of mine that's still active. Fortunately, Jafar has a similar style and length. Yay for wig recycling!
