Construction Details:

This jacket was made from ...clearance fabric at Jo-Ann's :) I wish I knew what it was. The cleaners had mistaken it for suede, but it actually isn't. It's a heavy duty type material that feels kind of soft is really all I can say.

I received assistance from my mom constructing this outfit; we started from a double breasted vintage pattern which obviously is super old school and used old school methods e.g. non-fusible interface.

The pattern isn't quite fit me either; technically it was one size too large but in actuality it was probably like 5 sizes too large...

The buttons took forever to sew! >.< and I accidentally sewed the pockets down with the buttons lol. The buttons were purchased as 2 sets of 10 from Etsy; the gorgeous white fur also from Etsy.

The hat was fun to make - that is actually my favorite part of this costume.

Thigh high boots were not made - I purchased these offline and didn't have time to officially modify the thigh highs to be shorter (it fits normal sized people, I am 4'8) so I had to ghetto it and kind of roll it in somehow so it tucked inside.

The wig was cut a lot shorter - it was super long and I didn't want to look "short" with such a long wig.

Personal Thoughts:

I participated in the Sakura Con 2013 Cosplay Contest for my first project; I didn't win anything but it felt great to be part of the experience. I love this outfit, and it is my first big sewing project for a cosplay.

Styling Notes

I cut 5 inches off and used a razor to shave off the ends to reduce the blunt cut look.
