Construction Details:

Bodice: made of black and red checked cotton with a combination of white cotton, poplin, and muslin accents. It is lined in red cotton and has a zipper closure.
Skirt: the waistband is a little tight, and is intended to sit further up the body for modesty reasons. The skirt is very full and has a lot of flounce. The ruffles are all made by hand. The skirt closes with a zipper in the back and the bow snaps on for easy wear.
Wristlets: snap closed for easy wear and feature hand-sewn satin ribbon bows.
Necklace: choker-style necklace has a button closure.
Headdress: slips onto a headband for easy wear, features hand-sewn satin ribbon bows.

Personal Thoughts:

I've wanted to do a maid costume for some time and had a bunch of red and black cotton from another project that fell through.I had a lot of fun in this costume and would like to make more versions of Juliet in the future.
