About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The bodice has a linig and bonig up the seams, and the tatters on the skirt are finished with a satin stitch (hence "Most Patient") The bootcovers weren't as much of a pain as I thought that they would be, but I had to make the leg brace twice before I got it right. I used a strapless Simplicity dress pattern with princess seams for the top. I just altered the pattern a little so that I could put eyelets in the back and lace it up. the skirt is just a circle skirt attached to the bodice. for the tatters, I left the full hem on the circle skirt and sketched out the tatters and then I went over all of the tatter outlines in a satin stitch and cut away the extra fabric so that I could wash it without it tattering the fabric any more than I wanted. The bodice is lined and has boning up the seams to keep it stable and I try to wear a small crinoline under it to make it look a little fuller when I'm standing. I restyled my Sakura wig, trimmed it up and straightened the front a bit and I like it much better now. I still have this costume in my closet, even after five years, it is still one of my most prized costumes in my collection :)
- Personal Thoughts:
- This is my personal Infinity costume. I made a huge investment in the wig. It was before I discovered Ebay, so I probably overpaid for it, but I LOVE that wig, and to this day still use it for my Tsubasa Sakura costumes.
