Construction Details:

I made everything because I hate myself.
I decided to make the famous volume 5 cover outfit. My interpretation of it has always been that the jacket is a dark green army surplus sort of jacket, which is why I went with that denim like twill weave material. The fabric I ended up using was my original intention, but when I went to buy it, they were out, so instead of waiting I naturally bought a completely different fabric that was the right color and wrong material. It was this really gross linen look material and I made the jacket about halfway with that material before deciding that I hated it and the pattern I was using and went back to the fabric store and angrily bought the fabric I originally wanted and a new pattern. This was also my first time using lining, which I really like! I want to line everything, it's like a cheater hem.
The hoodie was basically the bane of my existence making it and I'm still not super happy with it. The material was basically what I wanted, which was a thin stretch material, but this had waaaay too much stretch and just ended up being saggy. It was just a really difficult fabric to work with 0/10 would not recommend. Also after wearing it the first time it pilled like crazy, but it looks fine with the jacket over it to hide the massive disaster it is.
The shorts were also an adventure. This was my first time making any sort of pants and pants are pretty confusing if you don't know what you're doing, which I didn't. Through trial and error I made them work and they look really nice. I used stretch fashion denim (which is expensive but the only thing I could find in the color I wanted)
The tights are from Joy of Socks (I think)
The boots are from ebay and totally punk rock which doesn't photograph as well as I'd hoped.

Personal Thoughts:

I waited way too long to start this costume and as a result it was fairly rushed, but despite that I'm really happy with the way it turned out! Ramona is a character I've wanted to cosplay for a long time and I'm really glad I finally got to!

Wig Review

Really great color and super soft, but the wig is a little tight.
