About this Costume
Construction Details:
I used a pattern for the dress, but I can't remember which one. It was a few years ago. It's made from a thick stretch cotton, but it was the PERFECT shade of purple, so the slight extra cost was well worth it. The collar is made from craft foam and was sewn to the dress as is.

The wig was the very first wig I ever styled! It's a taobao wig, and it involved lots of clips, hairspray and a hairdryer. I usually have to re-blast it with hairspray every time that I wear it.

I know that the dark tights are neccessarily 'correct', but I have YET to find some lavender tights for a decent price. Really now.

My mother made her Rosie the Robot costume, but I CAN give you details if you'd like.

We were this as often as possible. I love seeing 'con parents' who come to chaparone, and they see us and their faces light up when they see something that they actually recognize. I've had old people stop me on the street and rave how happy I just made their day, while they saw me walking to get lunch at a con, or something.

There are things I'd like to change-- add the extra lavender skirt on the dress, add some interfacing and boning to make the skirt and collar 'stiffer', find the proper colored tights.
Personal Thoughts:
So my mother one day came to me, and says, "Jesse, call me crazy, but I think that I want to cosplay." Cosplaying with my family? How on EARTH could I turn this down?! So racked our brains for a cosplay that could suit my mothers... er... physical needs, and somehow, we came up with the Jetsons. I was MORE than okay with this, that I promise you.
