About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The coat was bought pre-made. It originally came with gold button closures down the front, which I removed and replaced with red. The black design is all fabric appliques, which were done with a stencil, copied onto the fabric as well as heat-n-bond for stability, and then hand-stitched onto the coat.
The belt and boots came from my closet and I ordered the socks and sunglasses. - Personal Thoughts:
- This series should really just be called Fujiko's Fashion Show.
I know other Lupin III series provide Fujiko with a variety of different outfits, but her design in the latest Lupin III installment is my favorite. It's appropriate to the time period yet many of her looks are so timeless. I love her selection of coats and hats!
That being said, I had to assemble one of her looks, and her red coat is one of my favorites. This outfit is very easy to wear, but not quite recognizable (yet!).
I loved wearing this with Bur Loire as Oscar at AWA 2012. We spotted each other across the lobby floor and it was <3 at first sight.
Wig Details
- Wig Review
- This was one of my first big wig styling projects! To get Fujiko's voluminous hair, I sewed in an extra hair extension into Arda's Luthien wig. This extension was curled and teased into a 60's style bump, which was then arranged with bobby pins in the back and smoothed with hairspray. I didn't have to do much to the bangs except trim them and style them to the side with hairspray.
