Construction Details:

Wig cut and styled by me. Blouse and vest were store bought and altered to fit. Also already had the loose socks and shoes on hand, so after that I really only had to make the neck bow, headband, and skirt.

The skirt was remade in 2013 for the Funimation booth at Anime Central. I used a bottomweight in olive, marked out my pleats, then marked my lines for the plaid stripes, and went through six spools of thread to satin stitch on my plaid lines to the skirt! The lines are aligned with each pleat to be centered. The hem was serged, rolled once, and then pressed up and slip stitched. It was a very clean looking finish, since rolled hems at the bottoms of pleated skirts tend to look bulky and not as pretty as a sharply creased fold. ^_^

Personal Thoughts:

Just barely was able to premiere Kurumu at OhayoCon 2013. I wouldn't have been able to if I didn't use my ugly skirt from 2012's Mizore that I made, from when I didn't even know how to install a zipper. o.O I have since remade the skirt, and it fits better, it's less bulky, it now has the plaid stripes, and it is finally my dream Rosario Vampire skirt! It is my favorite skirt I have made. =)

Styling Notes

I bought two wigs- a short bob and a long straight wig. The bob was my "base" for her bangs and head area. The extra wig was cut shorter into a cute shoulder-length style, then stuffed with paper and a butterfly clip to become a jumbo Kurumu ponytail. I went with a jumbo ponytail because they look great from all angles, and I think she looks totally cute with a fuller ponytail instead of a thin flat one. It definitely fits her flirty personality, anyways!

Wig Review

Great feeling fibers for a great price. The reasonable price also made my double-wig purchase less of an investment, and thus, less of a risk if I messed up! Luckily I did not mess it up. ^_^
