Construction Details:

I made a basic white kimono to wear with a long black shawl that I made with a long piece of black fabric. I then took a thin embroidered red scarf fabric (very long and wide) and turned it into the Obi. I liked the pop of color the Obi gave the outfit and the detail. Overall, it's still one of my favorites and is very easy to wear. :)

Personal Thoughts:

This was my first attempt at sewing a costume and was surprised that it came out rather well! I first went as Akito to Otakon 2009 and also for a day while at San Diego Comic Con 2009 as well. At Otakon 2013 I revamped this with a new wig, which I really think added to the look of Akito.
