About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Oh gosh, this costume. THIS COSTUME. It was my first time making a suit jacket, so it was bound to end in tears. The jacket was cut from a Vouge pattern, very slightly modified to suit my needs and sewn from scratch. The pants were modified from a pattern I already had and sewn from scratch. The vest was purchased because of time constraints, taken in to fit me better and the buttons replaced. Technically I still need to add the buttons to the rest of the costume as well.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Oh my gosh, where to start? Ace Attorney is my first love, and Edgeworth is my favorite character, so this costume meant a lot to me to get right. I took great care in paying attention to every detail to make the costume to my satisfaction and do the character justice. I took some liberties with the design and brought in some influences from the Takarazuka because I LOVE what they did with his costume; The velvet accents were so classy and so very Edgeworth, and their button choice for him was great. It was definitely down to the wire working on this costume but I could not be more pleased with the result! I'm looking forward to getting more wear out of this costume because it's probably one of my favorite things that I've made, and one that I'm the most proud of.
Wig Details
- Wig Brand
- Unknown
- Wig Name
- Short Layered
- Styling Notes
- I wanted to make sure the wig I purchased would have enough volume to style Edgeworth's bangs properly, so I selected a wig based on that rather than how much it looked like his style already. The wig I ended up with was very flippy, but had exactly the volume I wanted. I hot water treated the back of the wig to tame it into Edgeworth's very clean style and teased up and sprayed the bangs into the correct shape.
- Wig Review
- Probably the most I've ever done as far as wig styling goes, and I'm very proud!
