About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I had a bunch of dark blue suede with a sparkle milky way style pattern on it. I have tons of it so I decided to use it as the base corset and sleeve tops.
The corset and sleeves are fully lined and boned structure. The crystals on it are handed beaded by me. I chose iridecent, blue and silver crystals throughout the tops and sleeves. This is basically to create the look of a starry sky.
The corset also has a sliver decorative chain as straps. They are only decorative and do not support the corset in any fashion.
The sleeves and outer skirt layer are made of a sparkle sheer. The fabric is a blend of dark blue and a lighter blue that gradients. There is blue sparkle flower bunches beaded throughout the gown. The sleeves also have a layer of navy chiffon underneath for depth. The edges are all rolled hemmed via serger.
The skirt is a navy taffetta and trains out at the back.
The choker is also hand beaded and attaches to a navy chiffon cape in the back by navy ribbon.
I made a cloak out of the remaining navy chiffon. It is all serged and rolled hemmed. The hood and upper capelet are made of a stardust blue lace. The clasp is a silver one with crystals arranged within it.
The circlet tiara is made of silver wire and remaining beads from the corset added in.
I designed and made this based off of the night sky, hence the name I gave it.
This is an original creation, please do not copy. The character's name and background is my own creation as well.

- Personal Thoughts:
- I love designing and making my own fashions and costumes. I love creating characters for movie and tv shows to make costume designs based in that reality.
I am a big Lord of the Rings fan and designing my own gowns/outfits for that was a must!
This is one of many I have done.
Although the dress appears Elven in theme, the character I created this for is in the race of fearies and sprites.
The character is an original creation of my own as is the costume design.
A very big thank you to Tanya Rivard from Rivard Photography for doing these beautiful pictures for me. She made the set design as well. You can find more of her work on her Facebook fanpage: Rivard Photography.
