Personal Thoughts:

I have a love and hate relationship with this costume. I love it because I have always wanted to make an outfit with big sleeves. I intentionally made three layers of sleeves - one for each color. The red and purple fabrics are satin and the black is brocade. I hate it because the gold obi had given me a hard time in sewing. It is made out of metallic brocade. No matter what sewing needles I used, the metallic thread in the fabric kept giving me trouble. But I'm still happy with how it turned out because the gold makes the focal point of the whole outfit!
