About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Slightly more difficult costume, only with the prop attached to the wig. The garment was done with a method of pattern making called draping where you have a form to your specific size and you do each piece separately ie. princess side panel etc. The skirt was a 12 gored flat patterned skirt with reverse appliqued crosses. The shoes were made from a flip flop cut into shape and then sewn stripes all the up to my knee. The blue skin is a leotard I made of a swim knit and the back is reverse applique to look as though bones are exposed. I made both gloves and custom dyed both, the blue gloves have fake nails, and the black model magic bones. The makeup was a airbrush brand called Endura Ink, it stays on very well, but dries in the gun rather quick so I had to use a NYX Milk pencil for my stitches. The prop is attached to a headband with wires exiting around the stubbed left ponytail and under the right one. Then a corregated tube is over that and pipe foam.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Again, a group idea. My friend Adrielle asked me a few months ago about doing a Skullgirls group to which I respond with yes.
Wig Details
- How was the wig colored?
- Sharpie dye
- Styling Notes
- The wig wasn't difficult, the prop was. I had issues RIT dyeing the wig so I had to resort to sharpie, also the cap was very small so I had to cut under the tails and insert elastic which I then covered with wefts. The left ponytail was then stubbed and covered with the prop
