About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The fitted top has princess seams with zipper closure at the back. All edges are finished with bias binding. I had a tough time getting the bias tape to lay smoothly around curves. The pleated skirt is made out of cotton twill, which lends well to crisp pleats. The armor is made of craft foam. It was a fun learning experience and I'm happy with the way it came out. I also made the belt from scratch because I couldn’t find any double wrap belt that I like. It is made of white vinyl with silver pleather binding.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Having spent five years of my life playing World of Warcraft as an undead priest alongside with *GQBravo's orc warrior, Sword Art Online had embraced me in a MMORPG setting that I have nostalgia for. I've learned a lot of new things while making this costume. It was my first time (1) making armor, (2) making a pleated skirt, (3) doing satin stitch, and (4) using double fold bias tape.
