About this Costume
Construction Details:
Costume is made from black & white pleather and white wet look spandex. I used a pattern for the bikini top, since I wanted to make sure it fit well, and macgyvered the patterns for everything else. There are 5 functioning zippers of varying lengths in this costume and all of the pleather details were carefully topstitched.

The scythe is the second prop I've ever made. It's a cardboard base with rope lights and plastic sheeting laid over that. The rest of the cardboard was covered in 2 layers of craft foam which were gessoed and then coved with fiberglass cloth and resin. When it was dry the scythe was gessoed again and spray painted white. All of the details along the handle are made from thick craft foam. If I had a second chance to make the prop I probably would have used bondo autobody filler to strengthen and smooth out the scythe, rather than the fiberglass.
Personal Thoughts:
I wanted to try my hand at prop making and I thought the contrast between Black Rock Shooter and White Rock Shooter would make for some cool photographs. I'm not 100% happy with every part of this costume, but I learned A LOT while making it and it photographed way better than I expected.

Styling Notes
I decided to go with a clip-in ponytail wig because I didn't have time to style a wig AND make the costume and prop. The back of the wig was trimmed up and the bangs were cut into the front.
Wig Review
I love EPIC wigs - it's thick, it's soft, it didn't tangle. Also it was pretty opaque for a white wig. The only downside was it got a bit heavy after a couple of hours due to the weight of the pigtails.
