About this Costume
Construction Details:
So much velvet!. It made a mess of my machine. Lots of blue fuzz! The blue velvet was actually reclaimed fabric from a display at a department store that closed. The Ivory is a stretch satin and the lining is a standard polyester lining. The cording was a bitch to sew because of having to do it all by hand. All edges are finished. I was aiming to make the jacket a complete garment. The only thing I would like to add is some kind of closer for the front. Haven't found one I like yet.
Personal Thoughts:
This is a jacket I made for my first lolita outfit. I have always loved the clothing, but is all too often the problem, I am too tall/large for most label clothing lines. So my solution to this was to find existing patterns (this a Butterick Historical Pattern)and modified it for my larger western physical build.
