About this Costume
Construction Details:
The dress itself is fairly simple. The base is a white cotton batiste lined with more of the same due to the sheerness of the fabric. The neckline is elasticized. The ruffles are made with a light pink cotton fabric as well. Why? Because I felt like it. I wasn't sure if I should go with white, peach or pink because the artwork varies so much (damn you manga and anime artists for your fail in consistency.) I used a gathering foot on my sewing machine to make the ruffles then hand sewed it to the dress. The underbust corset is a brown microsuede that has been interfaced with light weight interfacing and lined with remnant pink fabric (want not, waste not).
Personal Thoughts:
This is a companion costume to go along with a Chrono that I am making. I decided to go with Mary instead of Rosette because I fell in love with the character while reading the manga.

Styling Notes
I purchased the wrong type of wig but I made it work. I saturated the wig with Motions spray and detangled it a day prior. Next I heated the bangs with a hair dryer and slowly trained the fibers to go towards the back. It took about 45 minutes to complete. I sprayed it again before braiding the ponytail. I unbraided it on the day it was worn. It came in a soft wavy texture like the character art.
Wig Review
This is an extremely long wig. I am 5'7" and it was very long on me. Take care to spray and detangle it before styling.
