About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The purple fabric is all cotton with everything else being leftover satin from Mr. Kirishiki's massive cape.
I went with the basic look from the anime that had the lighter purple layer being more like a shawl instead of a sleeved shirt. Not exactly the wisest decision since while it looks cool, raising my arms now becomes a challenge haha.
I used a Simplicity nativity pattern for the basic design of the dark purple man-dress (what even is the proper name for that? Tunic? IDK! I like man-dress) and just modified the neckline and sleeves to my liking. I just sort of winged everything else when it came to drafting and assembling the pieces.
Shoes are from Forever 21 (and a size too big and my feet paid dearly for that at the Matsuri T___T) - Personal Thoughts:
- It took me a couple months (and 3 separate attempts) to actually get into the series but when I did it was a 48 hour downward spiral in to the Magi abyss, never to return to sanity again.
Where's all the bling? Stolen. Duh.

- Styling Notes
- I suck hardcore at layering wigs.
- Wig Review
- This is a really nice purple/black blend wig. The wig was supposed to come pre-styled to an extent but NOPE so that was an adventure in itself.
