About this Costume
- Personal Thoughts:
- Well, with the last Harry Potter movie releasing, we decided it was now or never on the Harry Potter cosplay. Jonathan and I decided we wanted to play bad guys because we don't really look like any of the good guys and, well, being evil would be fun fr a change! We have had a flurry of other costumes between Anime Expo and Mikunopolis and so on, so getting this bad boy together was a pain, but we did it! Here's the costume break down!
I got the boots a long time ago on clearance at Walmart. I never knew what I would use them for, but when I was looking for Bellatrix boots they seemed just right!
The skirt was a thrift store find.
The shirt was another Goodwill find. I took the sleeves off, slit them up the arms, and then stitched lacing holes in and relaced it all back together. For the hands I just cut a hole to slip my index fingers through. Then I used a permanent marker to add the silver curly-cues.
The leather stitchwork bodice was actually a leather jacket we found at a thrift store. We took it apart, my mum helped me tailor the curves (she is the bodice queen) and then we just laced it up the back!
The nail are fake. We shaped them and glued them onto my fingers and they kept falling off all during our photoshoot, lol..
The skull ring and necklace Jonathan made out of fimo clay, and I painted them!
And the wig was a recent purchase for this costume. ^_^
The photoshoot was taken at the Bastille in Hanford. We got permission to shoot in the courtyard (since the building is abandoned) and my dad loaned the lights for the shoot! ^_^
