Construction Details:

There are five layers of kimonos here. The last two layers have full sleeves while the three under-layers have cap like sleeves. I live in Miami, so it would have been waaaay too hot and bulky to try and have every layer have them. It is also all french seamed, including the neck pieces and the sleeves. There is not one raw edge on the whole costume. It is by far one of my cleanest sewing jobs.

The chest piece is made out of sculpty and trim. The crown piece is made out of thick foam and stone beads and then edged with puffy paint. I then sealed the foam several times and then painted it. It is then attached to a headband the same color of my wig.

The staff is made from a mop handle, half of a cross stitch hoop, napkin rings, a wood ball and thick foam. I am NOT a prop maker so I was really proud of this one.

Personal Thoughts:

I love this costume, I really do. It was a lot of work but I just loved the character so much; it really was a nostalgia kick for me. Kayura and Sage were always my two favorite characters in the series and I was super stoked to finally cosplay one of them!

Styling Notes

I had to cut in the bangs and side burn pieces. This wig, although long was VERY easy to manage through out the day. Just be sure to brush it out every so often!

Wig Review

I love the wig! It has so many color variations that made it a wonderfully dimensional wig.
