About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The dress is based off two McCall's patterns. The blue is heavy satin, the yellow is dull satin (as is the orange), while the print is an upholstery fabric that I picked up while fabric shopping one day. The feathers are nice boas that I thought looked pretty nice and the pearls are half-buttons that I glued onto the dress with bedazzling glue XD
I struggled with the shear amount of fabric--constructing the train, making the bustle flow correctly, attaching the skirt (that had to be massively gathered) and the peplum onto one waistband...yuck. Haha. But overall very rewarding. - Personal Thoughts:
- AHHHHHH there is WAY too much fabric on this thing...it's super heavy too;;; But I worked really hard on this dress, and it's such an improvement from my past ballgowns. It makes me feel beautiful, and that's always good, I guess? Haha. And how could I ever resist cosplaying with my favorite big brother, Athena Marid?
Also, first Evelyn cosplayer on ACP-yee! XD
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Cut the bangs, hairsprayed, and pulled into a half ponytail. Added the ribbon. BAM.
- Wig Review
- This is the best costume to wig match I've ever had--perfect style, color, and fit for the cosplay. Thanks Arda!
