Construction Details:

Most of the work that went into becoming "King Magnus" a.k.a. "Swagneto" involved compiling reference images from the comic itself, as well as pictures of King Juan Carlos in the outfit it was based on. I made the uniform out of cotton sateen, and the sashes out of satin and costume suede. The lapel and wrist details are wood, cut on a scroll saw, and the badges/decorations are made of craft foam. I'm also wearing a pair of "LeStat Theatrical Contact Lenses", for extra swag.

Personal Thoughts:

This costume is based on art featured in the House of M story arc of X-men, as drawn by Olivier Coipel. It was also notably featured as a DLC alternate costume for Magneto in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but was later removed due to the outfit's controversial similarity to the royal military uniform of King Juan Carlos of Spain.
