Construction Details:

The dress was redone with a thicker and more stiff cotton sewing together with a simple straight stitch. The leg bands were transformed into a strip of black stretch fabric with elastic inside the hem and tied at the very top of the leg.



The leg bands are constructed from stretchy black fabric bands that are about 3 inches wide. They are held together with Velcro around the back. However, they kept falling and sort of ripped at the convention. So I hemmed the top which really made the difference in stability and also placed double sided tape onto the front and back of my leg to keep it in place.

The necklace is simple presentation cardboard painted gold with spray paint on an elastic cord.

The dress is a cotton linen fabric since I wanted the ragged look to be expressed. The stitching is a simple straight stitch that is tightly sewn together with back stitching every 3 inches.The bottom isn't hemmed since I wanted to make sure it would look a bit worn out since Morgiana is an ex-slave.

The wig is a dark red wig from epiccosplay.com which I had cut in order to make bangs and such.

The dress took about 5-6 hours to make and I had completed it at 4:45 am the day of the con I was to wear it to. With some heavy eyeliner on the eyes and makeup, you wouldn't even guess I was running on 3 hours of sleep.

Personal Thoughts:

This is the first official cosplay I have constructed with my own hands. dress, leg bands, necklace, styled wig, ect. So proud of how it came out considering I just learned how to use a sewing machine and I had no pattern whatsoever!
