Construction Details:

I used a basic pullover dress pattern and created a cutout within the middle. Then, I drafted out a ribcage motif for the front panel and added a zipper in the back. The dress uses a slightly sparkly spandex on the outer shell and it's lined with a dark red matte spandex.

For my shoes, I used a basic black stiletto and my boyfriend helped sculpt the bone detail for the heels with Model Magic. I then used a light tan wash to make it look more realistic and sealed the clay.

The base of the guitar was done by my friend Bobby and the painting was done by the boyfriend!

Personal Thoughts:

When Itsuka asked me to cosplay Marceline to her Princess Bubblegum for Anime LA 2013, I was pretty stoked to do this since Marceline is a really intriguing character for the show! This was a spandex nightmare so to speak but I think it turned out to be pretty nice! I tried to channel Emily Haines of Metric for general badassery but I ended up being too tired sob. However, I had a blast cosplaying with my sister and my friend Laura as Lumpy Space Princess!
