About this Costume
Construction Details:
All parts of the outfit were made by me. This includes the bolero, dress, puffy over skirt, and (dying) shoe covers. I took a little bit of artistic liberties with the design (mainly in the usage of sparkly tulle and the sizing of the bodice bows) in an attempt to be more fabulous. There is a short petticoat under the skirt portion to add onto the poof. I think the most interesting process was getting the puffy over skirt: it's a 28" radius pair of circles stuffed with 10 yards of tulle, and I punched and pinned it to hell and back to get a semblance of the design. The crown and sword were mainly made out of styrene. I had a TON of advice on the construction of the sword from helpful friends and I had assistance in the cutting of the plastic bowl for the guard (lol) and some painting of the blade, but the rest was done by me (so if there was any sort of error with the sword, it was on my part haha...).
Personal Thoughts:
I'm so happy to have had Adora and Laura as my Marceline and LSP!! Together we were the FAB TRIO. I've wanted to do Adventure Time cosplay for the longest time but didn't really get around to it until I saw this fanart from Fish-Fosh... and suddenly I was crazy inspired. It was an outfit with a lot of experimenting and new sewing/pattering techniques involved so that was a ton of fun for me. I've ALSO come to realize that I am NEVER doing body paint cosplay AGAIN... complete and utter lies or at least I'll do a better job at matching my body paint to my tights and having a more even paint job, sob.

Styling Notes
I bought a wig off of Taobao meant for Sandplay of the Dragon Luka, and aside from trimming the bangs a bit and taking off the clip on ponytail there wasn't any other styling to it.
