Construction Details:

Patty and Liz hats are an impossible design to do it real life. The brim in the front stands up while the back lays down.
It took me two tries before I got this design. Structure is constructed of craft foam. The materials used for the outside is suede and light jean fabric. For the top I put in interfancing so it will stay up a bit. I used duct tape to keep it together and to keep the sides standing. The brim in the front and back were not laying flat so I used craft sticks. I added a wide bias tape so you could not see the raw edges inside the hat. Then the bias tape was hot glued to the inside. Once everything was together I used a thick thread for the stitches.
I worked on the first hat for over a couple of weeks while the second hat was made in a couple of days. I cut out the fabric in one night. the night before the con I cut and constucted the craft foam structure. Sewed the fabric togheter. While I worked on the second hat and other things Kynessent put the stitches in.
