About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The fabric used was spandex milliskin. All of the patterns were drafted from scratch. The Fire Nation emblem is made from Sculpey; the symbol was hand-painted and covered with a gloss varnish.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I made this costume back in 2010, but I finally had a chance to remake it properly in 2012 for ColossalCon! It was very simple but super fun to wear!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- I stubbed the base ponytail; there's a dowel rod and foam core to support the weight of it. The braid was made using the wefts from the clip-on ponytail that came with the wig. For more info on the process I used, I made a work log video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDjID_m3hbg
