About this Costume
- Construction Details:

I am so proud of this costume. The dress was dyed with berried, nuts, and wood to keep authenticity. It was a fun experience. The edges are burnt, and there are holes in the dress to wear it out and make it look like it's been in the woods. The apron is also burnt.
The headpiece has a natural stone in it, and natural clays and leather were used to for jewelry and accessories.
Everything is handsewn to reflect stitches that were used by native people.
The necklace is made from wooden beads and coyote teeth, as the larger fangs San wears would have overwhelmed my petite build.
This costume gave me an outlook on how to create things using things from nature, and it was incredibly fun to create. - Personal Thoughts:
- I have always loved Miyazaki, and wanted to cosplay as San. I figured it was time to be able to do it in a different way, that reflected my Native American heritage.
