Construction Details:

So I know nothing about lolita when I started on this outfit other than some random tips from a friend.

I free-hand drafted the entire dress to the best of my abilities. (It looks horrible without the waist cincher though.) The edges of the collar and sleeves have an eyelet lace and is top-stitched with pink asterisks. The back of the dress is shirred with 1/2" elastic.

The tiers of the dress are yards and yards of gathered cotton. Since the design has the tiers connected to each other on the outside, I still used the cotton folded over with the tier sticking out on the inside to help create it's own petticoat.

I used simplicity 2331 for the corset/waist cincher. The first time I made it, I had to add extension pieces and forgot the boning, so it collapsed on itself a lot.

The necklace is a square within a square charm I found. I changed out the center gem to be pink and added it to a necklace chain.

I weaved black velvet ribbon through a chain and glued it down to a headband base.

I have a pink shawl as well as a pink dress shirt that I made for variations with this dress.

I wore a wig the first time but decided to just simply curl my own hair and have it up in her pony tail afterwards.
