About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The gray top is a stretch suiting fabric. I spent a lot of time making sure the yellow lines that go across the fabric were correct.
The pants were borrowed from another cosplay made by Elocineko.
Leg and arm bracers have velcro attached to them so I can easily get them off and on.
The green thingy basically is just draped underneath the gray top. It is fully lined.
Shoulder armor is made from craft foam and painted with acrylics. I weathered the pieces to make them look more worn.
Foot armor- still made from craft foam did the same painting technique I did on the shoulder pieces. These pieces are attached to a sock.
Black undershirt is a shirt I already owned.
Head crown is again craft foam and that was spray painted. - Personal Thoughts:
- It was a dream of mine to cosplay Toph. I had been planning on making her regular outfit from the original series but when Legend of Korra premiered Adult Toph I was just ajdskf;ljasdf and had too.
I'm really happy with the way the cosplay came out.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- This wig consists of two short wigs sewn together. The bottom main wig is more layered to help with edgings looking correct. The second wig is a bobbed wig and that was stuff with polyfil wrapped in black fabric. I hand sewed it on the the other wig. The crown wraps around it via an elastic band to hide the seam (although the seam is hard to see anyway)
