Construction Details:

Juri was one of the very first characters I ever cosplayed, and making this costume really helped me to appreciate how much my skillset has improved over the last ten years. For this costume I learned to do my first functional welt pocket. I also branched out into mould making and resin casting so that I could sculpt the epaulets and make matching hardware for all of the people in our group. We wanted all of our accessories to be removable, so that the jackets themselves could be dry cleaned. I reworked the wig on this costume several times, trying to find a happy medium between Juri’s distinctive hairstyle and something that would be flattering in real life.

Ali and I have talked about making these for years, I'm so glad it finally happened!
