About this Costume
- Construction Details:

The skirts are eight yards of a heavy light blue satin, the excess of which I used for the sleeves and ruffles. The skirts and bustle are hemmed with horsehair. The bodice and sleeve poufs are made from navy crepe. I know they're supposed to be black but it was a liberty I really wanted to take. I hand-painted the back of the bodice. The light blue on the bodice is heat n bonded down. I mean to applique the edges down before the next time I wear it. I appliqued layers of the fabric to itself to get the designs on the bodice and the sleeves. The bodice doesn't sit just right on top of the hoop skirts, but because of the applique-ing and heat-n-bonding I wasn't able to get it open to add interfacing, which is sloppily fused to the inside of the bodice, but thankfully it doesn't show up, haha.
- Personal Thoughts:
- MY FIRST BALLGOWN, I have never been a princess character before!!! I WAS SO EXCITED OH MY GOD
