About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Catsuit is the good ol' Kwik Sew 3052 and made out of matte metallic spandex, which seems to match the "leather-ish-ness" that all those comic book catsuits have. Boots are just out of my closet.
The belt is made out of soda can bottoms. Yup. I cut them out with tin snips and trimmed up the edges. I was going to sand down the edges further, but they didn't have any sharpness, so I left it. Those were spray painted with Rustoleum in gold, and one had the center painted in black and the red "Black Widow" symbol. I super glued pieces of black elastic to the backs of each to string it together into a loop. It's a bit of a wiggle to get on, but it works pretty well.
The stingers are wooden dowels cut down to the same size and spray painted with the same gold. They're held together by weaving cord elastic between them on the top and bottom. They didn't have any of the gold stuff, so I just ended up painting the cord after it was assembled. The stingers didn't turn out the best, but they work well enough.
Aaaand that's pretty much it. Not much to this one. - Personal Thoughts:
- This actually started out as building a catsuit for Catwoman, but after getting it all sewn up, I decided to make Widow instead. The boots helped. (Dang those boots are SMEXY.) But of course, you can't see them in any of my pictures.
All the pictures were taken by my good friend Kohaku, who doesn't have an ACP yet.
