About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The black is a lovely $19.99/yd velvet with silver glitter embedded into it. The orange is a satin with embedded glitter as well. The lines are all glitter-glue, and the white dots are dabs of metallic fabric paint. The sleeves have plush-lining so they stay poofy no matter what.
- Personal Thoughts:
- In Pre-K for Halloween, my parents made me a Monarch butterfly costume with cardboard wings and LOTS of glitter. I have been meaning to design a "grown up" version of that costume for years, but just never got around to it or had the motivation. When I heard about HalloweenCostumes.com's design contest, that idea popped up to the surface and screamed, "DESIGN ME, YOU HAVE THE CHANCE NOW!!!"
I'm very proud of this costume, overall, and I was so happy to have been chosen as one of the 17 finalists for the contest, along with winning 3rd place!
