About this Costume
Construction Details:
The coat was made from heavily altering Simplicity 3618 (both the "corset" and the hood from the Red Riding Hood cape). It's made of a faux leather and lined with cotton, and a ton of eyelets. The shoulder armor is made of craft foam. The weapons harness is an actual British army webbing yoke that I sewed a strap to to keep the scabbard on. I made the scabbard out of wood. I made the rosary. The gloves are the same Harbinger gloves Abby Cornish wears in the movie. The belts on the thighs are actually leather dog collars. ;) And the shotgun shells are actual empty shells I picked up at the shooting range.
Personal Thoughts:
When I saw the posters for the individual characters months before the movie came out, I decided I wanted to cosplay Sweet Pea. Fortunately, when I saw the movie she was also my favorite character. We have a lot in common. We're both overprotective big sisters to rebellious younger sisters. I'm sure some people hated how apprehensive she was about Babydoll's plan, but if I were in her situation I'm sure I would have been the same. She just wanted to protect her little sis.

The wig didn't need too much styling. I just had to put the back into a loose bun. The front was left the same.
