About this Costume
Construction Details:
First off, this costume and all of my group's costumes would not have been possible (well, as easily, anyhow!) without the detailed and amazing instructions given to us by SparklePipsi! I contacted her after seeing how crisp and clean all her Moonie costumes looked and HAD to try and pick her brain. Typically, when I ask questions on major construction, I usually don't get a reply or I get "It's a trade secret." or "I just winged it."...and NONE of that helps! XD
But this lovely cosplayer answered me promptly and politely and gave me the most help anyone ever has just by compiling all of her knowledge into a simple PDF file.
I cannot even begin to thank her enough! She took all of the fear of "winging it" and everything went together so easily that even our sewing novices of the group were able to make their costumes without difficulty and look just as amazing as those of us who have been at this for YEARS.

So! Pattern base is Green Pepper's Crystal Lake skating pattern. Skirt and bows are poly poplin, and I found that eBay is a wonderful place to find more colors in that fabric, since I was running out of options for pinks!
The spandex on the torso had to be doubled up since it was quite sheer.

The boots were a pair of black ankle boots with straps from eBay, straps got ripped off and the boots were then painted with Design Master ColorTools floral spray paint in Hunter Green. We have discovered that the color on the label of the can does not match what comes out. We had to go a shade darker just to match the fabrics. The boots DO have a bit of a platform and more of a heel than is accurate or than I would have liked, BUT I'm only 5'5" and the tallest girl in our group is a good 3" taller than me, so I had to do something to even out that height difference once she put her own heeled boots on. They worked beautifully and didn't look obscene! YAY!

The heart was made using this tutorial http://aluminumbunny.deviantart.com/art/PSWG-heart-tutorial-195941140

Ponytail balls were painted a teal color since her balls don't look like the green she wears!

The earrings were silly. I found a sticker sheet of resin roses in the scrapbooking section and then used some E6000 to glue them to some tapers since my lobes are stretched to a 4g.
Tiara is from Catzia's Collectables. We bought them from the same place so we were all consistent. :) They're very nicely made!We only had issues with putting them on in a way that didn't make them fit oddly.
Personal Thoughts:
This has been on my cosplay list since the beginning! I'm SO happy to have done it and feel like I did my favorite scout justice.

Wig Review
This wig kind of threw me for a loop. I normally have what my friends and I lovingly refer to as "Pinkie Pie hair" and it makes it difficult to fit under wigs from China. This one did NOT want to fit on my head at first. But, after straightening my hair and then french braiding it, it fit! The only complaints I have about it are the "fakeness" of the fiber and color, the obvious temple pieces and there was no fringe in the back to blend my hairline with the wig.
