Construction Details:

This is made with various knit fabrics and lined with non-stretch cottons because I wanted the look of the knit, but it needed stability. I used a basic two piece bodice pattern and attached a circle skirt. The skirt is given its shape with thick interfacing, and I wore a short petticoat underneath.

The belt and overall straps, sleeves, and white edge on the skirt are all stuffed with batting to give it shape. The big buckle in the front is made with craft foam with a star painted on the front. The shoes, which slip over a pair of sneakers, came out RIDICULOUSLY huge, but I made them the Tuesday before Dragon*Con and I was too burned out from sewing to fix them (they fit and that's all I cared about). I also made the Red Butler costume for my brother.

Personal Thoughts:

Shiva coordinated a full Rainbow Brite group for Dragon*Con 2012, and it was super fun and super colorful.

Styling Notes

This wig was perfect, and all I did was put braids into the pigtails.
